The steps to follow, step by step, to ask for your meter to be moved or for the addition of extra meter(s) to your system. Let us guide you.

Please note: any addition of a meter or modification of a connection at the customer's request is subject to a charge. The cost of the work is shown in the quotation.
A good tip: use your architect, contractor or other professional to help you fill in the form with the right documents.
Step 1: Gather together the necessary documents
Gather all the necessary documents to validate your request to move or add a meter:
1. A plan view and cross-section of the room
where the meter will be installed with the future meter and the old meter marked on the plan view.
Step 2: Fill in the form
Fill in our online form with all your details and all the documents requested (plans and photos) to get a free quotation.
Step 3: Wait for your quotation
On receipt of your complete file, we will contact you to prepare a quotation. This shows the total cost and explains any work required before the connection can be changed.
Step 4: Sign the quotation
Send us back the signed quotation. The completion time is mentioned in the quotation provided that the preparatory work is carried out according to our instructions detailed in the measurement file.
Step 5: Carry out any necessary preparation work
If additional meters are installed, it is important that access is kept clear to allow our teams to work properly.
In the event of a change in connection, you must carry out any preparation work requested by SWDE on your private property, taking into account our instructions.
This includes:
- constructing the trench;
- breaking through the cellar wall (or floor slab);
- installing the duct;
- installing any easement curve;
- backfilling the trench;
- constructing a housing.
Step 6: Verify the conformity of the work carried out
You must send us photos of the work done to the e-mail address indicated in the quotation. On this basis, we check their compliance.
Please note that if a trench is to be dug, it must be kept compliant until the day the new connection is made.
If the work is deemed to be in order, we will make an appointment with you to install the additional meter(s) or to modify your connection.
Step 7: Carry out the work
On the agreed date, we will come and modify and/or install the additional meter(s).
If the addition of the meter requires a modification of the existing connection, we will create the new connection and install the meter(s).
We supply and install all equipment:
- the connection pipe;
- the water meter;
- the connection devices and parts.
We also take care of earthworks, backfilling and repairs in public areas.
Please note that the SWDE does not make connections to private systems.
Step 8: Commission the water supply
The water supply is turned on as soon as the meter is connected. Each meter added will be billed separately.
