À propos du chantier

To comply with current legislation on the maximum lead content allowed in tap water, SWDE continuously invests in replacing all remaining lead connections on the public drinking water distribution network.

Learn more about lead in tap water.

In your street, several lead connections are still present. Their removal and replacement with materials that meet health standards are therefore planned. This work, scheduled over several days, may occasionally lead to water outages or drops in pressure.

Aware of the inconvenience these works may cause, our teams do their utmost to limit their impact:

  • on the supply of drinking water to your tap
  • on traffic around the work site.

If water outages need to be scheduled, SWDE or the company in charge of the work will notify affected residents at least three days in advance.

During or after the work, you may notice the following phenomena when opening your tap:

  • temporary drops in pressure
No need to worry — this phenomenon is temporary. If it persists, please contact our customer service.
  • brownish or reddish water
    See our recommendations.
  • milky-looking water
This phenomenon is not related to excess limescale. It is simply caused by air bubbles in the water and has no impact on water quality (see Water Quality FAQ).

This intervention, which consists of fully replacing the lead connection up to the meter, is entirely free of charge.
